If you ever happen to be involved in a car accident, there are a couple of things that you must do as a priority above anything else.

You first have to try and stay calm and make sure if other passengers in your car are all right or they have sustained any injuries. Then you have to go over to the vehicle you crashed with and check whether everything is OK with the driver. If anyone needs help, you must try and provide them with first aid.

Afterwards you need to call 911 and your insurance company and you must not leave the scene of the accident.

Then you should exchange information with other parties that were involved in the accident. These information include: your name and address, your driver’s license and license plate numbers, as well as information on your auto insurance. The auto insurance information must be shared with the law enforcement officers, too.
