When to Renew a Motorcycle License in Pennsylvania
The PennDOT requires motorcycle drivers in PA to renew a bike license at the same time that they renew their driver’s license. The DMV requires drivers to complete a regular and motorcycle license renewal once every two or four years, depending on the type of driver’s license they hold. Drivers are mailed an Invitation to Renew (DL60A/DL60R) from the DPS three months before their license’s expiration date with information on the renewal process and available application methods for the license holder.
Drivers can renew an M1 license in Pennsylvania up to six months after it has expired without facing any additional penalties. Learning permits for motorcycle drivers cannot be renewed through the DMV but must instead by re-applied for.
Eligibility for Motorcycle License Renewal in Pennsylvania
