If your car was purchased from a dealer:
Most dealerships will automatically submit your new car registration paperwork to the Maryland MVA so you don t have to. You will be provided with a temporary tag and registration document until your permanent one arrives in the mail.
If your car was purchased from a private party:
You will be required to apply for used car registration at a local MVA full branch office.
