- How do I apply for a drivers license?
- Applying for drivers licenses in Nebraska can be done in person at a local Nebraska DMV office. In certain situations, you may also be able to apply for a drivers license online. Applying online is limited to drivers who meet the following requirements:
- Had a Nebraska provisional permit for at least one year

- No address or name changes
Drivers who don t meet these requirements must apply for drivers licenses in person. To apply, you will need to present the DMV officials with certain identification, residency and Social Security Number documents. You will also have to pass a vision exam, written knowledge exam as well as a driving test. Drivers must also pay the drivers license fee, which are as follows:
- One year or less drivers license: $7.50
- One to two year drivers license: $12.50
- Two to three year drivers license: $16.50
- Three to four year drivers license: $21.50
- Five year drivers license: $26.50
Your new license to drive will arrive in the mail within 30 days.

- Nebraska residents who are active-duty military members stationed out-of-state can apply for drivers license replacements through the mail by completing an Out-of-State License Renewal, Duplicates and Replacements form.
