- How do I file a police report if my car title was stolen?
- To report a stolen car title, you are encouraged to file a police report at the nearest police station. If your car title information is found to be stolen, then you may be protected from unlawful use of your vehicle and personal information. Your application for a replacement car title must be signed and notarized by a Notary Public. - How do I obtain a duplicate car title?
- To get an Oklahoma duplicate car title, you must either apply by mail to the Motor Vehicle Division or in person at a tag agency. To apply for a duplicate car title you will need to submit an Application for Duplicate Certificate of Title for Vehicle/Boat/Motor. The application must be signed by the title owner and notarized by a Notary Public. Include the following on your application:
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Current registration decal number
You must supply either an Oklahoma car registration or proof of out of state residency to obtain a duplicate car title.

- How do I obtain a salvaged car title?
- To get a salvage car title in the state of Oklahoma, the damage to a vehicle must be between 60 percent and 79 percent of the current market value. Your insurance company or insurance agent must submit a request for a Salvage title. You may get a copy of salvage car title from the Oklahoma Tax Commission Motor Vehicle Division or at any tag agency located throughout the state. The salvage title fee is $4, although fees are subject to change.

- How do I transfer my car title between states?
- If you are transferring your title from another state to the state of Oklahoma, you will have to apply for an original Oklahoma car title. To apply for an Oklahoma title, provide the following information:
- Provide evidence of ownership in the form of either an out-of-state title or a Manufacturers Certificate of Origin
- Get the used vehicle inspected at a tag agency
- Provide lien documentation, if applicable
- Provide proof of liability insurance
- Complete and sign an Application for Oklahoma Certificate of Title

To apply for a new title, you must fill out an Affidavit for Transfer of Ownership Following Loss of Assigned Oklahoma Title. - Current motorcycle registration
- Odometer disclosure statement, if vehicle is nine years or younger
- Bill of Sale or other purchase price documentation

- How long does it take to receive my replacement car title after ordering online?
- You may not order an OK duplicate car title online. You may apply for car title replacement by mail or at a local tag agency. Once your application is processed and approved, you will receive your car title replacement. The MVD recommends that you apply for a replacement car title at a local tag agency since it may be faster.

- If a family member dies and leaves his or her car to me, how do I switch over the title?
- If a deceased relative bequeaths a vehicle to you in his or her will, you will be responsible for transferring the title to your name. The will must have been probated in order for you to be able to transfer title documentation into your name. You will have to present the court documents stating that the vehicle was left to you as well as the death certificate at a local tag agency. If the vehicle was left to you and there was no will and no other claim, then you can apply for a title transfer at a tag agency. Bring the deceased s death certificate with you.

- A bill of sale document is usually completed when one private parting is buying or selling a motor vehicle to another private party. In lieu of a bill of sale, drivers may obtain a Declaration of Vehicle Sale price from the Oklahoma Tax Commission website. It can be used in cases where a contract or bill of sale cannot be obtained.
