To change the address on your car insurance, contact your insurance provider and inform them of your new address. You may be asked to fill out a specific form to make the change effective, or you may be able to complete your request by phone. Make sure to have the following information available:

How do I change my address on my commercial drivers license?
The state of Texas only allows commercial drivers to make an address change in person. You will not have the option to make this change online or by mail. Therefore, make sure to bring a filled out Change of Address for Texas Vehicle Registration (VTR-146) form with you to a local DPS office. Upon presenting your Texas driver’s license, a license agent will be ready to assist you with updating your address on file.

In order to change your address on your ID card, you can opt to do it in one of three ways: online, by mail or in person. Drivers with a new address have 30 days to notify the Texas DPS of this change.
